The Agentschap Integratie en Inburgering is a Flemish government agency, whose mission is to implements the Flemish social and civic integration policy. Our goal is to contribute to the creation of a society where everyone, regardless of their background or circumstances, enjoys equal opportunities.
We organize a civic integration program tailored for newcomers and other individuals of foreign origin. Additionally, we offer counseling and assistance for foreign-language speakers who are not enrolled in the program to help them learn Dutch.
Our Agency partners with and supports local authorities and organizations in navigating the multifaceted implication of migration. Focus areas include language proficiency, fostering connections between citizens and groups; and promoting active participation. Effective communication with foreign-language speakers in social contexts is facilitated by providing trained community interpreters to authorities, care provider and other entities. Furthermore, the Agency’s legal services arm supports organizations and institutions in the accurate application of immigration law and international family law.
