CESSMIR colleague Tina Reynaert works on a PhD about participatory musicking projects in reception centre for applicants for international protection. In this first episode of her podcast on the project, she dives with us into Vlamingstraat 55, the musical output of The Scratch Band. Initiated by Concertgebouw Brugge, the project unfolded inside an asylum reception center in Bruges between August and November 2024. We listen to the music created there: new songs about life in limbo but also jazz standards and Arabic repertoire.
